Artists, Galleries and Exhibitions

Baw Baw Shire has a rich and varied arts community. The region is home to many talented creatives, artists and artisans across all art forms. Some of these are showcased below.

West Gippsland Arts Centre Exhibitions

The West Gippsland Arts Centre presents a variety of inspiring visual art exhibitions in the foyers of the Arts Centre. The artwork is often for sale and can be viewed between 10.00am and 4.00pm Monday to Friday and prior to any theatre show.

Artists who are interested in exhibiting at the Arts Centre are encouraged to sign up to our Creatives Mailing List to find out when expressions of interest next open.

WAS Gallery

Located in Warragul, WAS Gallery regularly displays exhibitions featuring oil and watercolour paintings, ceramics, jewellery and object design, photography and illustration.

The gallery is the culmination of the Lorraine family’s lifelong involvement in the arts. Having grown up in a family of artists, Anne Lorraine held a long-time dream of creating an inspiring place to house and show their decades of creative work. The family now welcomes visitors, who are welcome to learn more on the WAS Gallery website.

Open Studios West Gippsland

Open Studios is a self-guided tour that takes you along the backroads of our rolling hills to visit artists in their working studios. During the Open Studios event there are displays of work for sale, demonstrations of techniques throughout the weekend, and explanations of the inspiration behind the work.

More information can be found on the Open Studios website.

Baw Baw Arts Alliance
