Hidden Treasures Hunt

Help us find Baw Baw's hidden treasures!

Baw Baw Shire is home to many different pieces of public art and we want you to help us locate them all!

We've launched Hidden Treasures Hunt to encourage community and visitors to Baw Baw to identify pieces of public art all across the Shire, from sculptures and statues to murals, paintings and any other artistic form.

The hunt aims to broaden Council's public art register, which allows us to assess the condition of each piece of art and develop an ongoing inspection and maintenance program.

How do I join the hunt?

To participate in the treasure hunt, download the Snap Send Solve app onto your smart phone and start searching for local pieces of art. Once you've downloaded the app, here what you need to do:

Hidden-Treasures-Hunt-Phone.png   I've got the app, what's next?

  1. Make an account using your email address.
 2. When you find a piece of art, start a new report.
 3. Make sure your location is included so we know where to find the artwork.
 4. Under the community tab, click on Public Art

5. Take up to five photos and add your description of the piece and area.
 6. Make sure the report is being sent to Baw Baw Shire Council and click send!

The more pieces of art you submit, the higher your chance of winning - but remember all pieces of art must be located within Baw Baw!

The Hidden Treasures Hunt closes 31 March 2021, so get out there and start snapping.

What are the prizes?

Glad you asked!

Whoever submits the most pieces of public are will receive two double passes to a show of their choice at the West Gippsland Art Centre and a $100 Albert and Smith meal voucher.

There are also prizes for the runner-up, but it's best not to leave it to chance. The Hidden Treasure Hunt ends 31 March 2021, so why not get a head start on the competition and see what art Baw Baw has to offer.

Not sure where to start? We've got some inspiration for you!
