Hidden Treasures Hunt

Baw Baw's Hidden Treasures!

The Hidden Treasures Hunt encouraged community members and visitors to Baw Baw to identify pieces of public art from all across the Shire, with the winner scoring a $100 voucher to restaurant Albert & Smith and a double pass to the West Gippsland Arts Centre show of their choice.

Budding art enthusiasts uncovered almost 200 examples of public art throughout the Shire, from sculptures and statues to murals and paintings, to art-wrapped electricity boxes, miniature mosaics, carvings, and creative bollards.

Local brothers Toby and Keegan Just explored and discovered artistic treasures in towns from Longwarry to Erica, submitting an impressive total of 104 photos and nabbing the top prize. You can read about their artistic adventures here Baw Baw’s Hidden Treasures uncovered.

What happens next

Following the competition, our team is collating the images, locations and coordinates of each piece of art to form an online database for the community to enjoy.
