Remembrance Day

In line with DHHS Coronavirus restrictions, our local RSLs are unable to commemorate Remembrance Day and the 75th Anniversary of the end of World War II with the usual public services.

However, Council will livestream a closed, COVID-safe commemoration conducted by the Warragul RSL on Council's Facebook Page from 10.37am on Wednesday 11 November 2020.

We encourage residents to tune in and to observe a minute’s silence at 11am, from wherever you may be, in tribute to those who have fallen.

Residents may also like to join the Shrine of Remembrance for an online broadcast at 10.45am, live-streamed on the Shrine’s facebook and YouTube channels. For more information on how to give thanks to our veterans from home, please visit: www.vic.gov.au/recognise-remembrance-day.

Council will place wreaths at cenotaphs across the shire to honour those that have paid the ultimate sacrifice.

Lest We Forget.
