A public Remembrance Day commemoration will be hosted in Warragul at the Cenotaph on the corner of Smith and Victoria Streets from 10.30am on Thursday 11 November 2021 to acknowledge and honour the noble sacrifices of armed forces and civilians during times of war.

The commemoration is being run by the Warragul RSL and will be held in accordance with the COVIDSafe settings for public events. This means that attendees must register their attendance via QR sign-in and present proof of full vaccination status to the event’s COVID Marshall.

To enable residents to observe proceedings remotely, Council will also livestream a COVID-safe commemoration conducted by the Warragul RSL on Council's Facebook Page from approximately 10.30am on Thursday 11 November 2021.

We encourage residents to tune in and to observe a minute’s silence at 11am, from wherever you may be, in tribute to those who have fallen.

Private RSL commemorations will also be conducted at the following war memorials:

  • Darnum - 11.00am
  • Drouin – 10.50am
  • Longwarry – 11.00am
  • Neerim South – 10.50am
  • Thorpdale – 12.00pm
  • Trafalgar – 11.00am
  • Warragul – 10.30am

There will be no formal services at other locations, but residents are welcome to lay wreaths in their own time throughout the day.

Council will place wreaths at cenotaphs across the shire to honour those that have paid the ultimate sacrifice.

Lest We Forget.
