Revenue from rates enables Baw Baw Shire Council to manage the Shire's assets and provide services to the community.
Go paperless—sign up to receive your rates notices electronically.
If you think you may be eligible but do not currently receive the discounted Farm Rate, you can apply by downloading and completing the form found here.
Council rates are a property-based tax. The Capital Improvement Value of the property is multiplied by the rate in the dollar set by the Council.
The Farm Rate concession is available to owners of rateable land that meet Council’s definition of farm land. Other concessions are available for some pensioners and veterans.
If you are the ratepayer of a property in Baw Baw and are experiencing financial hardship as a result of the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic then please complete this form to make arrangements for your rates payments.
Rates need to be paid in four instalments throughout the year.
Property valuation is used to calculate how much you pay in Council rates.
A Land Information Certificate Application Form is required when requesting information on a property (such as rates and charges). Click to learn more and obtain a form.
