Animals for Adoption
All animals adopted from Baw Baw Shire Council are:
- Health checked
- Registered with Council
Council's source number is: BR105522
Adopting an animal can be a rewarding experience and you should take the time to think about what kind of pet is right for you. If you see an animal you may be interested in, fill out the online Animal Adoption Questionnaire.
Alternatively, you can download, print and complete the paper application questionnaire(DOCX, 70KB) and submit to Council via a Customer Service Centre or email and an officer will contact you.
If you would like more information about an animal available, you can contact the Compliance Team via email or on 5624 2411.
Some animals receive many applicants and response times may vary. Applicants are chosen on a ‘best fit’ basis for the animal and interested party, so that the animal gets the best home possible and you find the right pet for you.
If you have found your animal here, or would like to adopt one of the available animals(DOCX, 70KB), please contact the Community Compliance team on 5624 2411.
COVID-19 stage 3 restrictions update: Residents living within stage 3 restriction areas are still able to access animal adoption viewing sessions, by appointment only. COVID-19 hygiene practices, including the wearing of face masks and social distancing must be adhered to at all times during appointments. For residents living within stage 4 restriction areas, animal adoption viewing sessions have been suspended.
If you or any member of your household is unwell (fever, sore throat, runny nose, cough, shortness of breath), or has been in contact with a suspected or confirmed case of COVID-19, please contact us on 5624 2411 to reschedule your viewing appointment.
