Council's Municipal Animal Pound operates by appointment only to members of the public. 

Please note that EFTPOS is the preferred method of payment at this facility.

Cats: 6 months - 10 years

Lost Animal Reclaims

  • Monday to Friday - 9.30am to 4.30pm

Fees

  • Pound release fee - $185.00
  • Day fee - $35.00
  • Microchipping fee - $80.00
  • Pound large livestock release fee (horse, cow, bull, etc) - $205.00
  • Pound pocket pets and poultry (no day fee) - $55.00
  • Pound small livestock release fee (sheep, pig, goat, etc) - $110.00
  • Surrender - suggested donation - $160.00

Volunteer and Foster Care Programs

The Municipal Animal Pound is not currently operating a volunteer or placement program, and works with rescue organisations who provide foster care programs and carers. 

If you're interested in becoming a foster carer, search for your local rescue organisation for application details and to apply.
