The sporting pavilion at Longwarry Recreation Reserve is currently scheduled to undergo a full rebuild to transform it into a modern facility for the community, complete with ‘all access’ and female-friendly infrastructure to make it suitable for the growing community. The new multi-sport pavilion will service football, netball, cricket and angling clubs at the Longwarry Recreation Reserve.

The project includes;

  • Demolition of the existing pavilion
  • Female-friendly player and umpire changerooms and amenities
  • First aid rooms
  • Public toilets
  • A social room with storage
  • Kiosk and bar areas
  • Shared office space
  • Cleaners’ room, and
  • undercover spectator areas.

The new pavilion has recently received a $500,000 funding boost from the State Government’s Local Sports Infrastructure Fund to support the construction which is currently scheduled to commence construction in December 2026 and is estimated to be completed by April 2028.

To date, a Project Reference Group (PRG) has been formed and led by Council for the project and involves representatives from Longwarry Recreation Reserve Committee of Management, Longwarry Football Netball Club, Longwarry Junior Football Club, Longwarry Cricket Club and the Longwarry Angling Club. Additional stakeholders include Sport & Recreation Victoria, AFL Victoria, Cricket Victoria, and Netball Victoria.

The PRG have been meeting regularly since the project’s inception to work through the planning and design phase of the project.
