Baw Baw Shire Council delivered a $4.9 million investment to upgrade Copelands Road – boosting traffic flow, road capacity and safety for our growing Baw Baw community.

Major upgrade works have been completed between Mills Road and Lillico Road, including drainage improvements and construction of the Moe River bridge. 

The completed upgrades include:
✔️ A smoother road surface
✔️ Upgraded underground stormwater drainage at the Moe River crossing
✔️ New footpaths and a shared bike path.


Project Goals

  • Improve traffic flow in the growing area.
  • Enhance capacity of the road to accommodate increase in traffic.
  • Enhance liability with new pedestrian and bike paths.
  • Improve safety and accessibility for vehicles, pedestrians and cyclists.
  • Future-proof drainage requirements at the Moe River culvert.
  • Ensure the road meets current and future housing development demands. 
  • Improve access for heavy vehicles.

Project Funding

The Copelands Road upgrade projectwas jointly funded by Baw Baw Shire Council and the Development Contributions Plan (DCP) as part of the overall Warragul Precinct Structure Plan.
