Melbourne Water Flood Mapping Program

As part of its Flood Mapping Partnership Program, Melbourne Water undertook community consultation from Monday 4 August to Sunday 24 August 2025, to gather community knowledge and lived experience of local flooding.

The consultation focused on updating flood maps across the Melbourne Water catchment, including the townships of Drouin and Longwarry.

Council partnered with Melbourne Water to ensure our local drainage data was incorporated into the updated flood modelling.

The updated flood maps will inform:

• Community awareness and flood preparedness;

• Updates to Municipal Flood Emergency Management Plans and Local Flood Guides;

• Planning scheme controls so that future planning and building decisions properly consider flood risk.
