Baw Baw Shire is passionate and dedicated about providing quality customer service and values its interaction with the community.

The planning department is committed to providing the following pre-application services to assist with obtaining planning advice about your proposal and lodging a satisfactory planning permit application with council.

Written Advice Request

This paid service offers:

  • Written planning advice about your proposal including whether a planning permit is required
  • Opportunity to make changes to an application in line with Council’s requirements before lodgement
  • Formal registration process on Councils records to streamline your planning permit application once submitted based on the advice provided
  • Written planning advice generally received within 10 business days.

Verbal Advice Request

This free service offers:

  • Verbal planning advice about your proposal including whether a planning permit is required and the type of information that must accompany an application
  • Verbal planning advice generally provided within 2 business days.
