Baw Baw Shire has a number of community venues which are available for casual hire and are suitable for a range of functions and events.

Council’s online booking platform, Bookable, is uniquely designed to view, hire and managing bookings for events, meetings and more in Baw Baw Shire.

Booking Information

Bookings can be made for one-off events or for regular, ongoing use of our venues. All booking requests are subject to venue availability and suitability for the proposed activity. 

Please allow up to 3 business days for your booking application to be processed. Your booking is not confirmed until you have received written confirmation from Council. 

If you would like to view a venue before making a booking, you can arrange a 15-minute inspection by calling 1300 229 229. Venue inspections are subject to venue and officer availability.

Booking Requirements

To ensure your booking can be approved and processed smoothly, please note the following requirements:

  • All hirers must provide evidence of Public Liability Insurance or purchase Council's Community Liability Pack (where eligible) for all bookings at Council facilities
  • Bookings must be submitted a minimum of 7 days in advance to allow sufficient time for key distribution, venue inspections and maintenance acitivites
  • Customers must provide an ABN or proof of company/not-for-profit status when registering an account. This does not apply to private hirers
  • An approved Food Trader Permit is required for any booking involving the sale of food
  • A valid Working With Children Check is required where services are being provided to children
  • Payment is required upon confirmation of your booking. Please refer to your booking confirmation email for invoice and payment details
  • Bookings cannot be approved until all required documentation has been received and validated

Before Enquiring or Booking

  • Please read through our Terms and Conditions of Hire (linked at the bottom of this page) to understand your obligations before placing a booking. These terms and conditions form the formal hire agreement with Council
  • Understand that bookings are not confirmed until written confirmation has been received from Council
  • Review and understand the fees and charges outlined for each venue and customer type below
  • Information regarding key collection/access details will be emailed to you within 7 days of your booking date
  • To search for venue types and required amenities such as Wi-Fi or AV equipment, please use the filters option on the bookings portal page
  • Teenage birthday parties such as 18ths and 21sts are not permitted at Council venues. If you would like recommendations on local licenced venues, please contact us on 1300 229 229
  • If alcohol is to be served, please read and understand your legal obligations as outlined at Check if you need a liquor licence | vic.gov.au
  • For private functions involving alcohol, please familiarise yourself with PartySafe | Programs and initiatives | Victoria Police
