Baw Baw YouthFest is back in 2022. Over two big weeks, there will be a huge variety of great activities to celebrate and highlight the contributions and achievements of young people in Baw Baw Shire.

Running through-out the September school holidays, Baw Baw YouthFest gives young people across the region the opportunity to reconnect through a series of face-to-face events, and the chance to express their ideas and views on issues that affect their lives.

Young people aged between 12 - 25 are encouraged to join in the free and low-cost events, activities and workshops.

Some of this year’s highlights include:

  • Baw Baw Street Games - a series of free, fun, supervised games and activities for teenagers and young adults.
  • Djembe Drumming - learn the basic sounds of the Djembe in a fun environment with some tips on bringing mindfulness into your life.
  • Family Tai Chi Class - Gentle, free-flowing movements that focus on flexibility, breathing, balance, coordination and stress relief.
  • All-Aboard Skateboarding Workshop - Inclusive and accessible skateboarding workshop that provides children and young people the opportunity to learn and build skills in skateboarding.
  • Pokemon Terrariums - create the perfect mini habitat for your favourite Pokemon using a variety of supplies like fake moss and plants, small rocks and more.
  • Spring Blooms Workshop with Meg Hayley - a creative, fun drawing workshop using multimedia materials to create a finished canvas of colour and texture.

Eager event goers are encouraged to check individual event listings for the full details and to secure their spot with a booking, as some activities require registration in advance and places may be limited.
