Baw Baw Shire is calling local artists and creatives to apply for up to $2,000 in funding through Council’s Arts and Culture Fund program.

The Arts and Culture Fund supports local creatives to grow their creative practices and contribute to the arts in our community.

Baw Baw Shire Council Mayor Councillor Kate Wilson said the program has helped enrich our community.

"Over the past two years, our Arts and Culture Fund has supported 21 projects – from live music to ceramic workshops and everything in between,” Cr Wilson said.

"We know how important art and creativity are to our health and the enrichment of our lives. We want to help bring the community's creative ideas to life."

Eligible applicants can apply for a monetary grant of up to $2,000 to support their work.

The fund is designed to support projects that:

  • Help grow creative projects in the community,

  • Add value to the local creative community and/or to their own work,

  • Help to develop the local arts community,

  • Provide the wider community with the chance to experience and/or participate in the arts, and

  • Create opportunities for creatives to work together with other artists, residents and local community groups on projects.

Applicants are required to attend one of the following information sessions or meet with the Coordinator Arts & Culture prior to applying.
