Running from Monday 16 to Sunday 22 November, Youth Week 2020 has lots of great activities and opportunities to grab your friends and get involved.

Arts and crafts, Streetgames, yoga, fitness, e-sports and more! Check the daily listings and get involved. Just remember! Some events need you to register in advance, so be sure to check the info and get yourself booked in.

Monday 16 November

Conversation Hour with GCASA (Gippsland Centre Against Sexual Assault) 

An opportunity to hear from Gippsland CASA about their service and have any questions about relationships, consent, sexting and online safety answered.

Tuesday 17 November

Baw Baw Streetgames - Trafalgar 

Streetgames are a series of free, supervised activities and games for teenagers and young adults. Our games are generally pretty short and sweet (2-15 minutes each depending on game type), we usually have one main game happening, but we also have heaps of smaller side games.

  • Time: 3:15-4:15pm

Baw Baw Streetgames -Yarragon 

Can't make it to the Streetgames in Trafalgar? We've got you covered. Head to the Yarragon event instead!

Basics Flow Yoga

This class is perfect for anyone new to yoga, or wanting a refresher of the basics. You will be guided through the fundamental postures, sun salutation sequences, breathing techniques and meditation. A beautiful, relaxing and refreshing class for all levels.

Cycle RPM

Cycle at the Y is a group indoor cycling workout where you control the intensity. It's fun, low impact and great for you!

This unique martial art is for all ages and levels. Tai Chi promotes strength, coordination, posture, balance, concentration and energy level.

Empowering Pies - Leadership and Finding Your Voice

Empowering Pies is a three week virtual program delivered by the Collingwood Football Club. Join AFLW players Sharni Layton and Aliesha Newman for weekly meetings to discuss leadership, community connection, personal health and more.

This program is designed for female athletes aged between 13-17 years old.


Lino-Cut Workshop

Carve a huge 40x40cm lino block to create a sculptural piece. It's your chance to create your own hairy creature or textured abstract art using repetitive cutting. The emphasis of this workshop will be learning the skill of carving, as well as shaping using cutting to shape the block and enhance your design. No experience is required, suitable for ages 12 and above.

Please note: This is an online workshop. Once you have registered you will receive your own kit with everything you need to participate!


Yin Yoga and Meditation

Yin Yoga is a slow and meditative style of yoga. Holding poses for 2-5 minutes, working the flexibility of both muscles and muscle attachments. Props, pillows and bolsters are often used support your body and allow you to move deeper into the postures.

Take this opportunity to slow down, breathe deeply and balance your Yin and Yang elements - which is very important for leading a health and sustainable lifestyle.

PS4 NBA 2K20 Online Tournament

Do you have what it takes to be the champ? Join this round robin tournament and face off against other players in the playoff tournament, win and you progress to the next round. Winners will play off against each other, while defeated teams will keep the fun going by playing each other.

Please note: To participate in this event a Playstation 4 is required and the ability to connect online.


Character Drawing for Beginners

Learn how to draw a character by hand! In this workshop you'll learn skills to create characters that would fit into your favourite anime and cartoons. This two hour online session will cover how to create your character's skeleton and form, how to create poses and begin working on their facial expressions. Towards the end of the session you'll learn how to start colourising your creation and convert it to a digital image! 

Please note: To participate in this event you will need paper, grey lead drawing pencils and colouring tools such as coloured markers. This event is suitable for ages 10 and above.
