Baw Baw Shire Council’s Education Sponsorship aims to encourage students in Year 9 and over (or aged between 15 -21 years) in their preferred education pathway by supporting local education providers with an opportunity to recognise and acknowledge attributes and effort.

Education Sponsorship is a stream of Council’s Community Financial Assistance Program that supports local secondary- and pathway-education providers to recognise and financially award students who meet the eligibility criteria. Council’s operating budget includes $4,500 for the Education Sponsorship Program.

Eligibility

Eligible Education Providers can nominate up to two students from Year 9, 10, 11 or 12, or aged between 15-21 years. All students are eligible for the first award. The second award is for a student who is Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander. Applications open in September for a November/ December presentation.

All students nominated have the opportunity to receive $250, a letter and certificate.

  • Community College Gippsland (Warragul Campus)
  • Drouin Secondary College
  • TAFE Gippsland (Warragul Campus)
  • Lowanna College, Newborough
  • Marist-Sion College
  • Neerim District Secondary College
  • St Paul’s Anglican Grammar School 
  • Trafalgar High School
  • Warragul and District Specialist School
  • Warragul Regional College

 

Nominees will be outstanding in two or more of these qualities:

  • Authentic
  • Optimistic
  • Pragmatic
  • Respectful
  • Supportive

 

Sponsorship Dates

The round opens Monday 14 September and will close Friday 16 October 2020.
