Throughout April and May, Baw Baw Shire Council invited community submissions for consideration in response to the draft 2021/22 Annual Budget and Long Term Infrastructure Plan (LTIP).

Together, the Budget and LTIP clearly define Council's resourcing priorities for the coming year(s). By providing your input, you can help ensure that Council resourcing is aligned with community expectation.

Although the submission period is now closed, the Draft Budget and Long Term Infrastructure Plan may still be reviewed in full under the 'Key Documents' section of this webpage.

More information about the Budget and LTIP

The Council Budget and Long Term Infrastructure Plan are an integral part of Council’s overall strategic planning framework. They endeavour to allocate the resources needed to achieve the goals and directions that have been established in the Council Plan.

The Budget also includes information about the rates and charges to be levied, the capital works program to be undertaken, the human resources required, and other financial information Council requires in order to make an informed decision about the adoption of the budget.

The 2021/22 Annual Budget is for the year 1 July 2021 to 30 June 2022 and is prepared in accordance with the Local Government Act 2020 and Local Government (Planning and Reporting) Regulations.

What happens next?

The thoughts and ideas gathered during the consultation period are highly valued and will ultimately inform the adopted Annual Budget and Long Term Infrastructure Plan.

Following the consultation period, Council Officers will consolidate comments and feedback and consider all submissions to assist in making recommendations to Council.

All forms, submissions and correspondence will be acknowledged either by electronic response, email or letter so that you know your comments have been received.

Following the public exhibition period, Council will consider public submissions at a Special Council Meeting on Wednesday 19 May 2021.
