As part of its commitment to developing vibrant communities, Council acknowledges the value that roadside and footpath trading contributes to creating thriving towns. The support for these activities must be balanced with legislative requirements which enhance accessibility and protect the safety of motorists and pedestrians alike; ensuring that the end result works for everyone.

The Roadside and Footpath Trading policy, which was adopted on 11 October 2017, takes into account the needs of motorists, pedestrians, people with a disability, footpath and roadside trading, advertising, merchandise displays and kerbside dining - and we're seeking your feedback as part of this review to ensure that the Policy still meets its objectives, and to help us identify any room for improvement.

To ensure that we've got the Roadside and Footpath Trading Policy right(PDF, 1MB), we invited feedback from community members and businesses.

This consultation opportunity closed at 5pm on Friday 10 September 2021.

Feedback provided on the Roadside and Footpath Trading Policy will be considered throughout the review process and any resulting amendments to the Policy.
