Council has identified the three playgrounds in Longwarry and Warragul for renewal through its 2021/22 Capital Works Program.  

The playground renewal program will see $150,000 spent across three parks and focuses on the renewal of playground equipment, ensuring that the community has a safe, fun place to play.

Budget allocation for each park may vary due to the existing playground equipment and overall size of the area.

The three playgrounds included in the program are:

  • Hackett Park, Longwarry
  • Burke Street Netball Courts, Warragul
  • Kiah Park, Warragul 

Before works begin, we want to hear what you'd like to see included in the new design for each playground.

This community consultation opportunity closed at 5pm Wednesday 24 November 2021.

What's involved in the consultation process?

Phase 1 – Initial consultation (now closed)

Phase one is all about getting the design of the playground renewal projects right. We're asking the community what features they would like to see incorporated into each park.  

Phase 2 – Draft Design (Early 2022)

Following phase one, we'll gather all the information, feedback and suggestions we receive and incorporate it into the new designs. 

Phase 3 – Construction Begins (Mid 2022)

Once the plans are finalised, the playground renewal projects will begin at the three parks.

Council Officers will consolidate comments and feedback and consider all submissions to assist in making further recommendations to Council.
