Council has identified six playgrounds across Baw Baw for renewal through its 2022/23 Capital Works Program.

The Playground Renewal Program will see $300,000 spent across the six parks and focuses on the renewal of playground equipment, ensuring that the community has a safe, fun place to play.

Budget allocation for each park may vary due to the existing playground equipment and overall size of the area.

The six playgrounds included in the program are:

  • Bloye Park, Drouin East
  • Baw Baw Vista Park, Drouin
  • Jacksons Track Playground, Jindivick
  • St Phillack Reserve, Rawson
  • Macarthur Park, Warragul
  • Ellen Close Park, Warragul

Before works begin, we asked which aspects of the existing playground equipment you enjoy, as well as other ideas for new equipment within the playground.

This community consultation opportunity closed 5pm Monday 12 September 2022.

What's involved in the consultation process?

Phase 1 – Initial consultation (now closed)

Phase one is all about getting the design of the playground renewal projects right. We asked the community what features they would like to see incorporated into each playground as well as which existing features they most enjoy.

Phase 2 – Draft Design (September/October 2022)

Following phase one, we'll gather all the information, feedback and suggestions we receive and incorporate it into the new designs.

Phase 3 – Construction Begins (Early 2023)

Once the plans are finalised, the playground renewal projects will begin at the six sites.

Due to current material shortages across the industry, current lead times are between 4 and 5 months from order placement.

What happens next?
