In 2020, Council received requests for the relocation of the taxi rank on Smith Street from the local shop owners and Taxi Operators.

An investigation was undertaken, and a report was presented to Council at the 27 May 2020 Council Meeting.

One of the recommendations from this report was to seek feedback from nearby traders, about the proposed relocation of the existing Warragul CBD taxi rank to Napier Street Warragul (north side of Napier Street, immediately west of the Victoria Street/Napier Street/Palmerston Street roundabout).

Council has recently undertaken further investigations into the proposed relocation of the taxi rank, including organising and reviewing CCTV footage of the current parking activities occurring at both the existing Smith Street site and the proposed Napier Street location.

Based on the investigations, Council developed options for community consideration.

Options for consideration

Following the investigation, the below options have been developed for consideration.

Community members and business owners were encouraged to review the proposed options and provide their feedback, letting us know which option they prefer.

Please note that this consultation opportunity closed at 5pm Friday, 9 June 2023
