Anzac Day 2020
All 2020 ANZAC Day Services and Marches have been cancelled due to the current Covid-19 restrictions. We ask the service community and the public to stay at home.
This does not mean that ANZAC Day is cancelled. It just means that ANZAC Day will be different.
In 2020, on April 25, while you can't go to a local Dawn Service, the RSL is asking that instead you #STANDTO.
As the Last Post is played during the ANZAC Day Dawn Service, at 5.55am, walk outside, stand in your yard, driveway, or on your balcony and observe a minute of silence in respect of our veterans. Make sure that you snap a quick picture and share it to social media using the hashtags #STANDTO.
"Anzac Day goes beyond the anniversary of the landing on Gallipoli in 1915. It is the day on which we remember all Australians who served and died in war and on operational service past and present. The spirit of Anzac, with its qualities of courage, mateship, and sacrifice, continues to have meaning and relevance for our sense of national identity." - Australian War Memorial
