The Warragul Leisure Centre includes:

Hydrotherapy Pool 

Rawson Indoor Pool

The Rawson Indoor Pool is heated and located in the Robertson Sports Centre, adjacent to the cricket ground (Dunstan Oval). The pool opens from the Cup Day weekend in October/November and closes on the Tuesday after Easter. The pool opening hours are detailed below.

Fire Danger Periods

The Rawson pool will be closed on days declared by fire authorities as being Code Red (Catastrophic). To check the warnings go to the Bureau of Meteorology website.

Closures

The Rawson pool is closed on Christmas Day, Boxing Day and Good Friday.

Summer Outdoor Swimming Pools

Baw Baw Shire has outdoor swimming pools in Drouin, Neerim South, Trafalgar, Thorpdale and Rawson. The pools are managed on behalf of Baw Baw Shire Council by the YMCA and Rawson Village. 

Free Swims

This summer, Baw Baw Shire Council offers free swims for casual entry at the Drouin, Neerim South, Trafalgar, Thorpdale and Rawson summer pools.

Early Morning Swims Finished

Due to a late sunrise and fading light, early morning swims have concluded for the 2013 season.

Temperatures for Opening

Outdoor pools open when the temperature is forecast for 25 degrees or more, except Rawson Pool and early morning swims which are not weather dependent. This is determined from Bureau of Meteorology forecasts for the West and South Gippsland District, which are looked at a week in advance and revised daily. The pools may close prior to or during thunderstorm activity or in extreme weather conditions. Contact the Warragul Leisure Centre on 5623 4017 or visit the Bureau of Meteorology website.

Drouin

A 50 metre solar heated outdoor pool with shaded toddlers’ pool, located next to the Drouin Recreation Reserve. Open from 1 December until 31 March, when temperatures are forecast for 25 degrees or more. 

Neerim South

Swaffields Lane, Neerim South. Phone (03) 5628 1374.

A 25 metre, solar heated outdoor pool with shaded toddlers’ pool. Located just off the main street, the Neerim District Swimming Pool is open from 1 December until 31 March, when temperatures are forecast for 25 degrees or more. 

Trafalgar

McGregor Park Lane, Trafalgar. Phone (03) 5633 2143.

The Trafalgar pool includes a 33 metre main pool and shaded toddler pool with water features. Open from 1 December to the Labour Day long weekend in mid March, when temperatures are forecast for 25 degrees or more. *** Due to the hot weather forecast, Council has extended the Trafalgar pool season by an additional week, until close of business Monday 18 March 2013. ***

Thorpdale

An outdoor 20 metre pool located just past the primary school. The pool also has a toddlers’ pool with barbecue and picnic facilities. Open from 1 December to the Labour Day long weekend in mid March, when temperatures are forecast for 25 degrees or more. *** Due to the hot weather forecast, Council has extended the Trafalgar pool season by an additional week, until close of business Monday 18 March 2013. ***
