Rubbish Collection

Council is committed to providing residents with efficient waste management and recycling services.

Our Waste Collection Service is provided by our contractor Solo Resource Recovery to all households in townships and some properties in the rural areas.

The new waste collection contract commenced on 1 October 2012 and includes a fortnightly green organics collection with the residential service.

Commencing a new rubbish service

Property owners who would like a new rubbish service should visit one of our Customer Service Centres at Warragul, Drouin or Trafalgar where you will be required to complete an application form and pay the pro-rata rubbish charge to 30 June 2013.

2012/2013 Charges

Residential Service for Households

• Rubbish Service - the cost is $348.00 per year which includes the collection of rubbish, recycling and green organics.
• Additional rubbish bin - the cost is $79.00 per year.
• Additional recycling bin - the cost is $92.00 per year.

Commercial Service

• 120 litre Rubbish Service - the cost is $381.00 per year for a weekly collection of rubbish and recycling.
• 240 litre Rubbish Service - the cost is $449.00 per year for a weekly collection of rubbish and recycling.
• Green organics collection - the cost is $69.00 per year for a fortnightly collection.
• Bin upgrade of a 120 litre rubbish bin to a 240 litre rubbish bin - the cost is $68.00 per year.

The commercial garbage service is an optional service.

Due to limited space in the Warragul central business district, commercial properties have the option of two pick ups per week on a Tuesday and Friday, using one set of bins. The second collection is at the cost of an additional commercial service.

The commercial service does not include a green organics collection. If a commercial property owner would like a fortnightly green organics collection the additional cost is $69.00 per year.
