How to commence a new rubbish service

Property owners interested in commencing a new rubbish service should visit one of our Customer Service Centres at Warragul, Drouin or Trafalgar where you will be required to complete an application form and pay the pro-rata rubbish charge to 30 June 2012, or telephone 5624 2411 for further information.

We provide a Waste Collection Service through our contractor Solo Resource Recovery to all properties in townships and some properties in the rural areas.

The waste collection service includes:

Residential - 3 bins for rubbish, recycling and green organics

Commercial – 2 bins for rubbish and recycling

Residential and commercial properties receiving these services will notice that the rates notice will indicate a rubbish charge, which covers collection and disposal of material that is collected.

2011/2012 Charges

Residential

• Rubbish  = $241.00
• Additional green organics collection = $48.00
• Additional 120L rubbish bin = $53.00
• Additional 240L recycling bin = $60.00

Commercial

• Rubbish (standard 120 litre rubbish bin) = $272.00
• Rubbish (240 litre rubbish bin) = $320.00
• Green organics collection (optional) = $48.00
• Additional green organics collection (optional) = $48.00
• Upgrade 120L Rubbish bin to 240L Rubbish bin = $48.00

The waste collection service for commercial properties is optional.

We have 2 types of commercial rubbish service, a standard service of a 120L rubbish bin and a 240L recycle bin collected weekly, or a 240L service of a 240L rubbish bin and a 240L recycle bin collected weekly.

Standard commercial services can be upgraded to a 240L commercial service for an additional fee.

Due to limited space in the Warragul CBD, commercial properties have the option of two pick ups per week on a Tuesday and Friday, using one set of bins. The second collection is at the cost of an additional commercial service. These services can be arranged at our Customer Service Centre by completing an application form and paying the pro-rata charge to 30 June 2012.

The commercial service does not include a green organics collection.

If commercial properties would like a 4 weekly green organics collection the additional cost is $48.00 per annum, and a fortnightly green organics collection is also available for a further $48.00 per annum (total of $96.00).
