What is Family Day Care?

Family Day Care is a home based Commonwealth Child Care Program operated by Baw Baw Shire Council. Care is provided for a maximum of 4 young children in the homes of registered and approved care providers. The type of care offered is tailored to your child’s needs and monitored by the Baw Baw Family Day Care coordination staff.

Care may be full time, part-time or casual, and can also be provided on an emergency basis. Children can also receive care before and after school or kindergarten, outside regular hours or overnight.

Over 565 children from two months to about 12 years of age currently access Baw Baw Family Day Care. The service is registered with the National Childcare Accreditation Council and is participating in the national Family Day Care Quality Assurance system.
