Invitation for submissions under Section 223 of the Local Government Act 1989 on the Councillor Allowance.
Pursuant to Section 223 of the Local Government Act 1989, Council invites written submissions relating to the Proposed Councillor Allowances. Council must with six months of an election or by 30 June 2017 (whichever is later) adopt a set allowance for Councillors and the Mayor. Community members are welcome to make a written submission on the proposed allowance and can do so from Tuesday 30 May 2017 until Monday 26 June 2017.
Community members are welcome to speak to their written submission at Council’s Ordinary Council Meeting on Wednesday 28 June 2017 when Council will give notice of its decision on an allowance. The Council meeting will be held in the Council Chambers, Trafalgar Business Centre, 107 Princes Highway Trafalgar.
