Parks and urban maintenance
Council's parks and gardens services are provided for council controlled properties in main township areas

About 200-300 new trees are planted each year by the parks and gardens team, who also carry out garden bed maintenance, grass mowing and maintenance, and look after and replace landscape structures (playground equipment, seats) in all public parks and areas.

Council staff also maintain public toilets, barbeques, empty street litter bins and street sweeping. For more information about these services, click on the link below.

Signs
Council has developed a coordinated signing program to ensure maximum effectiveness and ease of navigation for visitors and residents.

Processes have been put in place for applying for directional road signs, services and tourist signing and advertising signs. These are supported by the development of a new enforcement plan for signs without permits and a visitor information centre network to help to direct tourists.
