| Roads | | Council maintains approximetely 1,726km of local roads throughout the shire. Of the local roads, approximately 986km are unsealed gravel roads. Baw Baw Shire's roads are maintained under contract by Quality Roads Pty Ltd. Arterial roads within the shire are maintained by VicRoads. | Parks and urban maintenance | | Council's parks and gardens services are provided for council controlled properties in main township areas
About 200-300 new trees are planted each year by the parks and gardens team, who also carry out garden bed maintenance, grass mowing and maintenance, and look after and replace landscape structures (playground equipment, seats) in all public parks and areas.

| Signs | | Council has developed a coordinated signing program to ensure maximum effectiveness and ease of navigation for visitors and residents.
Processes have been put in place for applying for directional road signs, services and tourist signing and advertising signs. These are supported by the development of a new enforcement plan for signs without permits and a visitor information centre network to help to direct tourists.
