Youth Opportunities

Council seeks to create an environment where young people:

  • Are safe and promoting safe behaviours

Council provides facilities, grants and events to enable supportive environments for  young people to thrive. Facilities such as pools, sports fields, stadiums, skate and BMX parks, Arts Centres, libraries, public halls  are provide by council.  Concerts, skill development programs, skate events and Australia Day awards and events contribute to a vibrant community where young people are awarded for the contributions and can be involved in their community. 

Every year Council provides grants and allocations for a number of events and programs to foster involvement and participation including:

  • FReeZA Program
  • Synergy Leadership Breakfast
  • Youth Education Scholarship Fund
  • Gippsland Sports Academy

Who we work with

Baw Baw Shire Council has a number of affiliations with organisations that provide services and support for youth in Baw Baw.


Baw Baw Shire works in partnership with Headspace to deliver the Freeza program.
