The Baw Baw Shire Council is seeking the Trafalgar community’s feedback on the preferred location of a premium off the dog leash area and the potential for other Open Space Improvements in Trafalgar.

All submission must be received by 5.00pm Friday 14 December 2018.

Background

In March 2015, Council resolved to commence a 12-month trial of dog off-leash areas at nine parks and reserves throughout the municipality.

The trial concluded in March 2016 and community consultation was undertaken by way of an online survey from 11 March 2016 to 1 April 2016, to determine the success of the trial and the suitability of areas nominated. James Balfour Oak Tree Park, Trafalgar was the trial site for the Trafalgar area but following the community consultation two alternative sites were proposed.

At the 9 May 2018 Council meeting in determined to undertake further community consultation to determine the preferred location for an off the dog leash area.

Council offices have also discussed the potential for other Open Space Improvements with nearby residents through the Trafalgar Community Development Association.

These improvements have been incorporated in the options for consideration.
