Remembrance Day

A number of Remembrance Day Commemorations will be conducted throughout the Baw Baw Shire. Services will be held across multiple days to take into account volunteers' availability.

Attendees are encouraged to arrive 15 minutes early.

Commemorations will be conducted at the following war memorials:

Friday 9 November

  • Narracan Primary School - Cancelled due to unforeseen circumstances.

Saturday 10 November

  • Aberfeldy – 8:30am
  • Walhalla – 10:00am
  • Erica – 11.00am
  • Willow Grove – 1:00pm
  • Hill End – 2:30pm

Sunday 11 November

  • Darnum – 11:00am
  • Drouin – 10:45am (Commemorative elm tree dedication 1:30pm and gold coin concert and afternoon tea 2.00pm)
  • Longwarry – 11:00am (Special presentation at service)
  • Narracan East – 10:00am
  • Neerim South – 11.00am (Light lunch to follow)
  • Thorpdale – 10:45am (Includng two memorial plaque dedications)
  • Trafalgar – 12:00am (Drinks and nibbles to follow)
  • Warragul – 10:40am (Book launch to follow along with light refreshments)

Monday 12 November

  • Trafalgar Primary School – 1:00pm (Located at the Cenotaph at Trafalgar Thorpdale RSL, 51 Kitchener Street, Trafalgar)

Wreath Laying Ceremonies

Council will also lay wreaths at the following memorials:

  • Jindivick
  • Neerim
  • Neerim East
  • Neerim North
  • Neerim South
  • Noojee
  • Yarragon

All returned soldiers, service personnel and residents are cordially invited to assemble at the respective memorials and to lay wreaths.


All citizens are requested to observe a one minutes silence at 11.00am.
