Warragul QBR Community Celebration

Warragul has been selected as a Celebration Community and will host a leg of the Queen’s Baton Relay (QBR) on Sunday 11 February 2018 in the lead up to the Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games.

The Relay route(PDF, 501KB) will commence at the Warragul Leisure Centre at 1.15pm and finish at the Civic Park (Warragul) Celebration Site(PDF, 462KB) at around 1.45pm.

Celebration Activities

Festivities will kick off at Civic Park in Warragul(PDF, 462KB) at 11.30am and run through until 2.30pm.

The family friendly community celebration will include children’s entertainment, a free healthy BBQ, music and activities from community and sporting groups. Of course, it will also give members of the community the chance to share time with the Baton.

  • Roving favourite characters Poppy Troll, Peppa Pig and Chase from Paw Patrol
  • Baton on display for a short time following relay
  • Growing Together Baw Baw planting activities
  • Australian native wildlife interactions for children
  • Activity/ come and try zone including Storm Elite All Stars cheerleading performances, come and try badminton with the Mid Gippsland Junior Badminton Association.
