Australia Day Community Events
There are number of community events held across the Shire to celebrate Australia Day (Saturday 26 January) in 2019.

12.00pm at Cullens Flat (Cullens Track)
Join in a free community lunch and flag raising ceremony.
12.00pm at the Darnum/Ellinbank CFA
Barbecue lunch and movie screening.
7.30am breakfast at the Anglican Parish Hall (128 Princes Way)
Free breakfast including guest speaker Carolyn Turner (editor of the Warragul/Drouin Gazette) and music by the Warragul Brass Ensemble and local vocalist Margaret Schellekens. Bookings essential - RSVP by 21 January by calling Council on 5624 2411 or in person at one of Council’s customer service centre.
4.00pm - 8.30pm community celebration in Civic Park
Join in the fun with games, small animal farm, jumping castle and music by the Lilico Road Band. Free barbecue at 6.00pm.
9.00am arrival for 10.00am cricket match at the Erica Caravan Park
$5 entry per person to play, proceeds go to the CFA. Call the caravan park on 5165 3315 to secure a place. Sausage sizzle by the Lions, drinks available. BYO Picnic chairs and drinks.
6.00pm at the Hill End Community Centre (formerly Old Hill End School)
Celebrate with a flag raising ceremony and national anthem followed by a free two-course meal including a trivia quiz.
6.00pm at Kydd-Parke Reserve
Join in a flag raising ceremony and national anthem followed by a free family barbecue. Bring a salad to share.
4.30pm at the Labertouche Community Centre
Join in a family cricket match followed by a free dinner (lamb rolls and salads). Cold drinks available to purchase. Bring the family for a fun-filled afternoon and evening.
11:00am - 2:00pm at Bennett Street Park
Join in a flag raising ceremony followed by a barbecue including coffee, tea and scones. Enjoy family-friendly music, a jumping castle, face painting, CFA readiness display, vintage car and truck displays, pot a plant, poetry, novelty children's games and quizzes including draughts and Connect 4. Lots of giveaways.
7:00pm at the Narracan Public Hall
Free family barbeque - bring a salad or desert to share.
5:30pm at the skate park barbecue area
Free family barbecue with salads and Aussie sweets (5.30pm) including games, competitions and Aussie music. Test your balance skills in the egg and spoon races or enter a family team in Tunnelball.
12:00pm at the Shady Creek Hall
Barbecue lunch and Aussie sweets. Enjoy entertainment, games, competitions and activities for a fun filled day.
12.00pm at the Tanjil South Hall
Join in a flag raising ceremony followed by a free family barbecue lunch including refreshments. Enjoy some Aussie music, a quiz and prizes for best dressed Aussie! BYO other drinks.
6.00pm at the Tetoora Road Community Centre
Join in a flag raising ceremony and national anthem followed by a free family barbecue dinner. Meat and bread provided - BYO everything else.
10:30am at Pioneer Park
Join in a flag raising ceremony and national anthem followed by a free family sausage sizzle.
8.00am at the Trafalgar Public Hall
Join in the annual free breakfast event – no bookings necessary. This year there will be a 'Citizen of the Year' presentation and guest speaker.
10.15am arrival for 10.30am ceremony in Civic Park
Join in a flag raising ceremony lead by the Scouts and Girl Guides, special performance by the Warragul Municipal Band, followed by a formal Citizenship Ceremony to welcome our Shire’s newest Australian citizens. Free community barbecue, including vegetarian options.
8.30am at Market Street Park (Corner Market Street & Murray Street)
Join in a flag raising ceremony with CFA followed by free breakfast of bacon and egg sandwiches. Enjoy music by local talents, a guest speaker, traditional thong throwing contest and activities by the CFA.
