Australia Day Awards 2019

The Baw Baw Shire Council Australia Day Awards 2019 honour Baw Baw Shire citizens who have made a noteworthy contribution during the current year and/or given outstanding service to the local community over a number of years. 

Award categories

Citizen of the Year

  • A person who had made a noteworthy contribution during the previous year, and/or given outstanding service to the community over a number of years.

Young Citizen of the Year

  • A person aged under 25 years who has given outstanding service to the community.

Australia Day Medallion

  • A person who has outstanding achievements in any of the nomination categories.

Community Event of the Year

  • An organisation/group who performed a service to the community, raising funds for a charity, event or project. 

Community Contribution Awards

An individual, organisation or group that has successfully conducted a project/event/activity or has brought credit/recognition to the community in one of the sub-categories:

  • Sporting Achievement Award
  • Environmental Achievement Award
  • Cultural Achievement Award
