Drainage Strategies 

Baw Baw Shire Council is taking action to plan for future stormwater drainage requirements and reviewing the efficiency of existing drainage systems through the implementation of drainage strategies.

In planning for the future growth of the Shire, drainage strategies are being formulated as part of the Shaping the Future program to ensure that appropriate drainage infrastructure is constructed in future developments.

The strategies also review the efficiency of the existing drainage infrastructure and recommend options to minimise flooding in towns. One of the recommendations of the strategies is to work with Melbourne Water to introduce a formal maintenance program for major drainage channels and for action plans to improve existing drainage infrastructure.
