Baw Baw Shire Council is gearing up preparations for the annual Children’s Expo promising lots of local service information for parents and fun activities for the kids.

The free-entry expo will run from 10.00am to 1.00pm on Tuesday 24 October at Council’s Family and Children’s Services building at 144 Normanby Street in Warragul.

Mayor of Baw Baw Shire Councillor Joe Gauci is encouraging residents with young children to come along and find out about children’s activities and services available across Baw Baw Shire.

“The Children’s Expo is a great day out for all with lots of information sharing, all while the kids have fun and play”, said the Mayor.

“Council staff will be on hand from Kindergarten, Family Day Care and Maternal and Child Health teams to answer any questions about their respective service areas.

“Parents will have access to information about immunisation sessions, key ages and stages information, centre locations and the best contact numbers for making appointments.

“The expo will also be a fantastic opportunity for us to celebrate 100 years of Maternal and Child Health services in Baw Baw Shire.

“There will also be loads of activities available to children on the day including face painting, craft activities, community garden and outdoor games.

“Kids will be able to enjoy some story time hosted by West Gippsland Libraries and even learn about road safety from the TAC’s Thingle Toodle and the Professor.”

The Expo will be held in the outdoor play area, so parents are encouraged to bring sunscreen, a hat and a water bottle.

Additional parking will be available off Cambridge Drive.
