New Director Community Assets Appointed

Baw Baw Shire Council is pleased to welcome the appointment of Cohen Van der Velde to the position of Director Community Assets.
Cohen is a qualified Civil Engineer with over 16 years of experience, predominantly in local government, including his most recent role at Bass Coast Shire Council as Manager Infrastructure Delivery for over six years.
Cohen’s experience includes senior management roles across a broad range of business functions including engineering design, construction and project management.
Cohen, who undertook his secondary schooling in Warragul, is passionate about developing high performing people, teams and culture within organisations.
CEO of Baw Baw Shire Council Alison Leighton was pleased to announce the appointment following a robust recruitment process.
“Cohen’s specialist knowledge, experience and enthusiasm will be a real asset to the role and ensure that we continue to deliver quality infrastructure, upgrades and services to the Baw Baw Shire community”, said Ms Leighton.
“He has a real passion for working closely with communities and highly values the power and impact of community engagement and public participation.
“I am confident that Cohen will do an outstanding job leading our infrastructure and assets portfolio ensuring projects and services are delivered in-line with community needs and expectations.”
