Help Shape the Draft Master Plan for Brooker Park
Published on 10 April 2018
Baw Baw Shire Council is inviting community feedback on the draft master plan for Warragul’s Brooker Park.
The draft master plan captures the community’s vision for the park’s future management as well as identifying potential open space upgrades such as plantings, access and park infrastructure.
Mayor of Baw Baw Shire Councillor Joe Gauci said the first round of consultation held in October 2017 returned 123 submissions of valuable feedback and recommendations which have helped shape the draft document.
“During the initial consultation we heard strong support for maintaining the park’s spacious character, enhancing environmental quality and increased provision of passive recreation in Warragul’s broader open space network”, said the Mayor.
“This time around we are particularly keen to understand what the community’s priorities are for the park so we can be confident that the overall vision is captured for this beautiful space.
“Open spaces are significant to our Shire’s liveability and help contribute to our community’s health and wellbeing. Brooker Park is an important and much-loved community asset and we encourage anyone interested in the park to review the draft Master Plan and have their say.”
Council officers will host a drop-in information session where community members can ask questions and provide feedback. The session will be held at Brooker Park from 8.30am to 12.30pm on Saturday 21 April. Anyone interested in the project is encouraged to attend.
To review a copy of the draft Master Plan and provide feedback, please visit the Have Your Say webpage on Council’s website. This second phase of this consultation will close at 5.00pm on Friday 11 May 2018.
The responses received will be considered in the development of the final master plan that will be presented to Council for adoption in June 2018.
