Baw Baw Settlement Plan
Settlement Management Plan
Based on the BawBaw 2050 Community Vision Baw Baw Shire Council has prepared a Settlement Management Plan which will help the Council and the community to sustainably manage the growth and development of the Shire over the next 15-30 years. The Baw Baw Settlement Management Plan is jointly funded by and a partnership project between Baw Baw Shire Council, the Department of Planning and Community Development and Regional Development Victoria.
When completed the Shire-wide plan will guide growth and development of towns and localities across the Shire, prepare for the projected population changes, and identify key infrastructure needs over the next 15 to 30 years.
The council has worked with residents, town groups and communities of interest, government agencies and service providers to answer questions about what land area, infrastructure and services are needed to meet projected growth in towns around the Shire.
The project will focuses on towns and localities across the Shire, and reviews the local provisions relating to settlements in the Baw Baw planning scheme.
The Settlement Management Plan, once completed, will inform the review of existing Town Structure Plans and will also inform preparation of Structure Plans for other growth areas.
