Baw Baw Settlement Plan
Settlement Planning Project
Based on the BawBaw 2050 Community Vision Baw Baw Shire Council is now preparing a Settlement Plan which will help the Council and the community to sustainably manage the growth and development of the Shire over the next 15-30 years. The Baw Baw Settlement Planning Project is jointly funded by and a partnership project between Baw Baw Shire Council, the Department of Planning and Community Development and Regional Development Victoria.
When completed the Shire-wide plan will guide growth and development of towns and localities across the Shire, prepare for the projected population changes, and identify key infrastructure needs over the next 15 to 30 years.
The council will work with residents, town groups and communities of interest, government agencies and service providers to answer questions about what land area, infrastructure and services are needed to meet projected growth in towns around the Shire.
The project will focus on towns and localities across the Shire, and will review the local provisions relating to settlements in the Baw Baw planning scheme.
The Settlement Strategy will inform the review of existing Town Structure Plans and will also inform preparation of Structure Plans for other growth areas.
