Council Representation Electoral Reviews

Electoral representation reviews consider the number of Councillors and the internal electoral structures of local councils.

The reviews are conducted by the Victorian Electoral Commission (VEC) and aim to provide fair and equitable representation for voters and take into consideration:

  • similar municipalities across Victoria,
  • communities of interest,
  • demographic information,
  • growth potential, and
  • any special circumstances in the particular municipality.

The last Council Representation Review for Baw Baw Shire was conducted in 2015 and came into effect at the 2016 Council elections.

For more information and copies of the reports for the 2015 or previous Council Representation Reviews, go to the Victorian Electoral Commission's website.
