The Baw Baw Shire Council Recovery Team recently organised a pamper day for women impacted by the February bushfires.
Forty eight women attended the pamper day at the Hilltop hairdressing salon of Drouin West. Proprietor Janene Gardner (herself impacted by the bushfires) of the Arthurs Rd salon, offered her business to be site of the pampering day.

| Baw Baw Shire Council Kids Recovery evening
Baw Baw Shire Council is holding a ‘Kids Recovery’ information evening for parent, carers, teachers, grandparents and anyone involved with children to explore ways to recognise, understand and manage anxiety in children relating to the February bushfires.
The evening will be held on Tuesday 15 September 2009 at 7:30pm at the Fountain Room, Warragul Arts Centre.

| Baw Baw Shire Council is conducting a number of Waste Management Plan 2020 community consultation forums over the next week.
The next forum will be this evening at Warragul Council Chambers; then tomorrow the 17 September at Drouin in the Council Chambers; Friday 18 September at the Algie Memorial Hall in Neerim Sth then Tuesday 22 September at Erica Memorial Hall. All meetings commence at 7pm and go to 9pm

| Impounded pets register now online at Councils website
Baw Baw Shire Council has developed a new online impounded animal’s register on their website where residents can see if their missing pets (cats and dogs) or livestock (cattle, goats and sheep) have been impounded. Photos of animals will be listed on the website for a period of 10 days.

A citizenship ceremony was held at Baw Baw Shire Council chambers on Thursday 10 September. Nine residents from Longwarry,Trafalgar, Warragul and Yarragon became Australian citizens officiated by Mayor Cr Ruth McGowan. |
