Baw Baw businesses show confidence about the future
Businesses within Baw Baw Shire region in general seem to be faring better than most other areas despite a reported strong leap in unemployment rate for Gippsland for the month of June 2009 according to statistics released by the Australian bureau of Statistics.

Warragul Leisure Centre stadium repairs
Baw Baw Shire Council took advantage of the recent school holidays to carry out some repair works on the Warragul Leisure Centre Stadium floor. The works undertaken on the floor involved cutting back the surface in selected areas of both courts and applying 3 coats of floor sealant. Some spot repairs were also undertaken.
GERF hands over buses for community groups in Baw Baw Shire
It was with great pleasure that Baw Baw Shire Council was able to link Gippsland Emergency Relief Fund (GERF) with two Baw Baw Shire community groups to receive donated commuter buses.
Councillors disappointed at Mc Neilly Rd Drouin developer’s appeal on planning conditions.
Council is disappointed that the developers of the McNeilly Rd Drouin development, a major sub-division planned for Drouin have lodged an appeal on the planning conditions set out by Council and other responsible authorities.
National Tree Day in Baw Baw 2009
Sunday 2nd August is National Tree Day. Organiser of National Tree Day, Planet Ark is calling on Baw Baw residents to join the pursuit to plant the campaign’s 15 millionth native seedling.
Warragul Drill Hall Upgrade
Work is well underway on a $218,000 upgrade of the Warragul Drill Hall.
Labertouche Residents Create Recovery Plan
On Wednesday 15 July, Labertouche residents met for a Community Recovery Planning Meeting facilitated by Baw Baw Shire Council to formalise a community resident committee to supervise bushfire recovery projects.
Baw Baw Shire – Rural Tree Grants
Owners of rural properties over 2ha can apply for grants of up to $200 per rural property for the planting of indigenous trees and shrubs.
Help make the Two Towns Trail beautiful!
Baw Baw Shire Council invites community comment on the draft Two Towns Trail beautification masterplan. The masterplan seeks to emphasise the key assets of the trail, complement its character and add to the enjoyment of the journey.
