BAW BAW WINERIES WIN GOLD AT GIPPSLAND WINE SHOW 2009
The 2009 Gippsland Wine Show was held at the Wonthaggi Workmen’s Club on Wednesday 11 February with 218 wines from across the Gippsland wine region up for contest.

Fire damaged sites contain significant safety hazards that need to be addressed. To ensure the safety of you, your family and others you must consider some important factors.
The Bunyip Recovery Centre will cease operation on Saturday 14 February.

Baw Baw Country Cup Day – Bush Fire Appeal
Sunday the 15th of February brings for the second year the running of the Baw Baw Country Gourmet Food & Wine Cup Day at the Moe Racecourse. Last year the day was held in January and had a great turn out with over two and half thousand people in attendance.
Free water for fire affected residents
Gippsland Water will provide up to 20,000 litres of free potable water per property to fireaffected residents in the Traralgon South, Jeeralang, Jumbuk, Callignee, Churchill, Warragul, Drouin, Rawson, Erica, Neerim, Neerim South, Noojee, Hazelwood North and Hazelwood South areas who have lost water from their private water tanks as a result of the recent fires.

Baw Baw Shire Council calls for action to help Clean Up Australia
Australians generate almost 32 million tonnes of rubbish each year, making us the second highest producers of waste per person in the world. In Baw Baw Shire, Clean Up Australia Chairman Ian Kiernan AO urged local residents to look carefully at the types of rubbish they are sending to their local landfill, and consider if they could recycle or reuse it instead.
