	Baw Baw Shire residents have embraced renewable energy with Council’s rebate for solar hot water and solar panels being so popular it has been over-subscribed just four months into this financial year.

	A group of over 50 keen seniors, Strzelecki Bushwalking Club members, a Parks Victoria Ranger and Baw Baw Shire Council’s Recreation Officer recently joined in the “Go for your Life” Seniors Walk at Mount Worth State Park on Tuesday 6 October 2009 to celebrate the Seniors Festival and Walktober.
	Drouin Path of Achievement to be opened by Minister for Environment
	Baw Baw Shire Council Mayor Cr Mayor Ruth McGowan announced today that “After almost 2 years the Drouin & District Path of Achievement will be officially opened by the Honourable Peter Garrett, Minister for the Environment, Heritage and the Arts on Thursday December 3rd at 9.30am in Drouin Civic Park.”
	Funding Improves Local Firefighting Capability
	Fighting fires in Baw Baw Shire is now easier with the installation of fire fighting water tanks by Baw Baw Shire Council on behalf of the Fire Access Roads Subsidy Scheme (FARSS) and the Bushfire Mitigation Program.
